This Meinl Sonic Energy Soundscape Gong is part of a series containing various themes. Examples include planets and moon phases. This is always a gong with a diameter of 22 inches (about 55 cm), made of the alloy alpaca (also known as nickel silver, new silver). Of course, if you hit it vigorously with a mallet, a bucket of sound will come off. But for more meditative purposes, subtle hitting is very calming. That enormous wash of sound makes you forget everything else for a moment. The rim of this gong is also easy to play, again providing a completely unique sound colour. The gong comes complete with travel bag, handle (Meinl G-HANDLE) and gloves.
